• Additional Dwelling Units (ADU)

    A new law effective in 2017

    Now allows individuals to have 2 dwelling units on a lot, it can be in the form of an apartment, granny house, guest house etc. The naming varies but it always include a kitchen, living and sleeping space.

    No carport is usually needed

    As long as the house is half a mile away or less from a bus stop.

    Up to 1,200 ft²

    1,200 ft² or half of the footage of the existing main house.
